Steve Chang

In 1988, Steve Chang founded Trend Micro to develop antivirus software. He served as CEO until 2004 and currently serves as chairman of the board.

Under his leadership, Trend Micro grew to over 2000 employees with operations in more than 30 countries. From 1994 to 2003, revenues increased from US$10M to US$454.

Steve has been recognized by numerous organizations:

  • Received the Lifetime Achievement Award, Asia Business Leader Awards, 2009
  • Named “Innovator of the Year,” Asia Business Leader Awards, 2004
  • Named one of Asia’s “25 Movers and Shakers,” ZDNet Asia, 2001
  • Called a “global force” by Fortune Magazine
  • Twice chosen for Business Week’s “Stars of Asia” award

Prior to launching Trend Micro, Steve worked at Hewlett-Packard as an engineer and then founded AsiaTek, Inc., a Taiwan-based UNIX software design company.

Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Fu-Jen Catholic University and a master’s degree in computer science from Lehigh University.
