Stephen Picataggio has over 30 years experience in metabolic engineering of industrial microorganisms and developing fermentation processes for the production of fuels and chemicals. Prior to joining Verdezyne, Dr. Picataggio was Vice President of metabolic engineering at Synthetic Genomics, Inc., and held various leadership positions at Dupont, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Henkel/Cognis Corp. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is the recipient of several awards as well as an inventor on more than 45 issued and pending patents. Dr. Picataggio received his Bachelor of Science degree in Bacteriology and Public Health from Wagner College and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Rutgers University.
