Stephan Uhrenbacher is one of Germany’s leading Internet entrepreneurs. He was part of the success of British travel portal lastminute.com and held leading positions at Bild.de, the news portal of Germany’s most popular newspaper, as well as at Dutch online pharmacy DocMorris.

His biggest success up to this date is the recommendation portal Qype, which he founded in 1996. Attracting 18 million unique users per month in eight countries, Qype is by far the leading website of its kind in Europe. His projects include Avocado Store, an online market place for sustainable products, which was awarded several times as start-up of the year in Germany.

Stephan Uhrenbacher’s latest venture is 9flats.com. The site allows its users to rent short term private accommodation and is the social media alternative to hotel rooms.
