Somu co-founded New Science Ventures in 2004. He serves on several Boards of NSV’s portfolio companies including Achronix Semiconductor, RF Arrays, Therox, BioVex, Receptor Biologix, and Celleration. He also is an observer to the boards of Light Sciences Oncology, Xoft and BioProcessors. Prior to starting New Science Ventures, Somu was a Director at McKinsey & Co. and at various times led their Strategy Practice, Technology Practice and HealthCare Practice. While at McKinsey, he advised leading multinational companies in the pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotechnology, photonics, software and semiconductor industries. He also was a member of McKinsey’s Investment Committee. Somu received his undergraduate degree (B.Tech.) from the Indian Institute of Technology and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
