Simon Oxley’s generally buried deep in Aware Monitoring’s depths. Having spent 15 years in IT - including 7 years in financial services - he’s well versed in everything from systems architecture to network management and, of course, monitoring.
Simon started out working on the UK’s Nation Health Service IT infrastructure. After that he spent time working as a network consultant where he specialised in systems management and monitoring. Simon met and worked closely with Nick at this consultancy.
At Capital One Simon was instrumental on designing their new mission critical transaction monitoring system for their European business. That meant tackling planning, architecture and leading the deployment. The project scope included system and transaction monitoring and SLA reporting.
Throughout this time Simon and Nick stayed in touch, and by 2008 it was a natural choice to start Aware Monitoring together.
When Simon’s not neck-deep in source code, you’ll find him tearing along trails on his mountain bike or catching up on classic movies.
