He focuses on helping incubators, startups, small to medium size businesses, and enterprise, SI and ISVs take advantage of the portfolio of Google technologies available for Cloud application development.

Before joining Google he was Chief Platform Architect of BT’s Cloud Platform, Technical Director of Microsoft’s Mission Critical Program, and a Director of Infrastructure Consulting at Avanade.

Prior to these roles Simon worked as a Developer and Technical Evangelist at Microsoft in Redmond, WA in Enterprise, Windows, Research and the Developer Tools Divisions.

He received his BSc in Computer Science from the University of Durham, UK in 1996. He holds 5 patents in the area of software performance analysis.
