In March 2008 Sheryl Sandberg was named COO of Facebook. Previously she was at Google where she started in 2001 and eventually rose to the position of Vice President of Global Online Sales and Operations. In the position Sheryl was responsible for sales of Google’s advertising and publishing products. She was also in charge of sales operations for Google’s consumer products and Google Book Search and served on the board of Google.org/the Google Foundation.
Sheryl also has political experience. She was the Chief of Staff for the United States Treasury Department in the Clinton administration. Other past jobs include being a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and an economist with The World Bank.
