Shawn Budde is the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of ZestFinance. ZestFinance uses big-data machine learning tools to save the underbanked a billion dollars by facilitating lower-cost, short-term, installment loans online. At ZestFinance, Shawn is responsible for managing the daily operations of the business, software engineering and all underwriting.
In total, Shawn has more than 25 years of experience in the consumer finance industry with a variety of lenders including a finance company, several banks and as an independent consultant. Over more than eight years at Capital One, Shawn was responsible for leadership of several diverse Capital One business units. Those roles included leadership of Capital One’s sub-prime credit card business; serving as President of the Westmoreland Agency subsidiary; and managing large operations responsible for marketing to new and existing customers. In his last role at Capital One, Shawn served as the company’s first chief customer officer. Mr. Budde earned a B.A. from Columbia University in New York City and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
