Shaun Tai is active in the technology, entertainment, and non-profit industries as a eMarketeer, creative strategist, and tech philanthropist.
Tai has over ten years in the digital arts and design industry, is an expert in sustainable and green building practices, and is still active in the technology field as principal of ZTY MEDIA with clients such as Facebook, HSM Global and Weigend Associates LLC.
March 25th, Tai organized the first-ever “Social Media for Small Business” at Oakland City Hall aimed at helping economically disadvantaged small business owners (examiner.com, 2011).
October 2nd, Tai’s video “Tweedia Day 2010: Warriors Media Day” was the second most tweeted video in sports (ZOCIALtv, 2010).
In July 2009, Tai founded the Oakland Digital Arts & Literacy Center (ODALC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that educates, inspires, and empowers low-income communities to participate in the digital economy.
Tai successfully documented the history of Bay Area hip-hop culture, creating an online campaign that exceeded 14-million video views in 2008 (SFBG, 2009).
McCall Design Group partnered with Tai on an award-winning, green-building design for affordable and sustainable secondary housing in Northern California (Public Architecture, 2007).
Tai co-founded an award-winning automotive group that was the sole influence for the $155-million grossing, blockbuster box-office commercial success, “The Fast and the Furious” (Guardian UK, 2001).
Tai possesses a vast creative and business education with a B.A. in Digital Graphics (Honors; Cal State University, East Bay), a B.S. in Advertising Management (Magna Cum Laude) and M.A. in Architectural & Urban Design (San Jose State University; 4.0 GPA).
