Shankar Narayanan
Shankar Narayanan is a successful entrepreneur in the Silicon Valley. Prior to founding Spime Inc, he founded Emuzed Inc, a mobile multimedia leader. Emuzed, introduced the world’s first mobile video recording technology and licensed the technology to the world’s top mobile OEMs such as Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, and others. Shankar steered the company from founding to acquisition. Shankar headed Flextronics’s Handset software division as VP and GM. Shankar has over 24 years of technology, sales, marketing and engineering management experience in the technology industry. Shankar has successfully managed high powered technology, Sales and Marketing teams for many years. He understands the challenges in taking technology intensive products to the OEMs and the consumers. He has extensive experience and knowledge in managing businesses in Asia, Europe and North America. Before co-founding Emuzed, he co-founded and headed Nexus Inc., USA. Prior to becoming a serial entrepreneur, Shankar worked as a technical staff, sales and marketing executive and management expert at various levels at British Physical Laboratories, Aurelec Systems, and Nexus computers. Mr. Narayanan has graduated in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, he has double Masters in Business Administration from Corllins University, USA and Masters in Administration from MK University, India. Youth Organization of India at Delhi awarded Shankar Narayanan with ‘Global Youth Leadership Award-2009’, the award was presented by prominent Cabinet Ministers of Government of India at the function held at ‘Indian Habitat Center, New Delhi. International NRI Congress has selected Shankar Narayanan as one of the few NRIs around the world to honor with ’ Hind Ratan Award’, the award ceremony was synchronized with 2011 Indian Republic day eve celebrations on January 25th at New Delhi with prominent cabinet ministers attending the ceremony. Shankar currently lives in the Bay Area of California, USA. During May, 2012 SPIME INC was acquired by Trimble, a world leader in Location Technologies. This is the 3rd successful venture founded by Shankar Narayanan acquired by the US multinational company.
