As the Founder and CEO of Behance, Scott is focused on the actionable nature and diversity of Behance’s content as well as the development of products, knowledge, and services for the creative community.

Through Behance, Scott has interviewed hundreds of creative professionals and teams, always asking the question “how do you make ideas happen?” Scott has consulted for leading media companies and has traveled as far as the Kaospilots School in Aarhus, Denmark to talk about his findings. Scott also oversees Behance’s businesses including the Behance Network, a collective of over 10,000 top creative professionals from around the world. The Network receives nearly a million visitors every month and has become one of the most efficient platforms for creative professionals to broadcast their work to top agencies, fans, peers, and recruiters. Scott is also the Editor of Behance’s online magazine, featuring interviews and tips on productivity for the creative community. In 2007, the Behance team also launched the “Action Method” product line that is carried in stores across the United States, including the Museum of Modern Art stores in San Francisco.

Prior to founding Behance, Scott helped grow the Pine Street Leadership Development Initiative at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Scott was especially focused on organization improvement and strengthening relationships with Goldman Sachs’ key clients. Scott is also the founder and Chair of an international leadership development network and serves on the Board of Cornell University’s Entrepreneurship Program. From his years working with leaders and entrepreneurs, Scott became fascinated with the specific challenges that creative professionals face.

In 2001, Scott started writing about “Productive Creativity.” He took every opportunity to interview creative professionals and examine leadership and productivity in the context of creative work. His interests led to a few research projects at Cornell University and ultimately the desire to “boost productivity in the creative community.” He has also spoken on the topic in a number of settings including segments on ABC News and MSNBC, sharing tips and insights for creative teams. He is also featured as a small business expert on American Express’ Open Forum.

Scott’s education is in design, environmental economics, and business. He attended Cornell University as an undergraduate and Harvard Business School. Scott also hopes to increase “productive creativity” in the nonprofit world through his involvement on various nonprofit and foundation boards. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Reboot and is a Director for the Kaplan Family Foundation. Scott lives and works in New York City.
