Ryan Holmes

Ryan Holmes is the CEO of HootSuite, which he founded in December 2008. Ryan guides the overall direction of the company’s strategic development and core vision to revolutionize social communication. Prior to HootSuite, Ryan Holmes was the CEO of Invoke Media, a digital agency he founded in 2000 to provide holistic marketing, development, and design services. While at Invoke, Ryan and his team conceived of the idea for a social media dashboard that would effectively allow the agency to organize their many social media accounts and networks from one place. Discovering that many clients shared this similar problem, in 2009 Ryan spun off HootSuite into an independent company – HootSuite Media, Inc. – to meet those needs.

Today leading media and publications ranging from the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Guardian, Mashable, PROFIT Magazine, _VentureBeat, and Canada’s Globe and Mail, call on Ryan’s expertise as a thought leader in the social media space. Ryan frequently presents on social business and the communications revolution at conferences across the globe — including TEDx, 140tc, OMMA, SXSW Interactive, YEC Global, IIMA Fusion, and Japan’s Open Network Lab. Ryan also serves on the boards of Adreno Gear Ltd., Memelabs.com, Invoke Media, LaunchRock, and AppBoy. Outside of HootSuite, Ryan stays healthy and active through yoga, rock climbing, paragliding, surfing, and playing with Mika, his crossbreed Labrador-Rotweiler.
