Ryan Dewsbury has enjoyed using the Google Web Toolkit since its release in May 2006. Originally a test of the toolkit’s technology and an attempt to put his love of poker to better use, Ryan built a multiplayer Texas Hold ‘em poker application using GWT. It has grown to more than 100,000 members and has proven to be a great learning tool in building rich Internet applications with GWT that can scale. Ryan is convinced that GWT is a great way to build applications for the web and is excited to share every detail of what he’s learned in his book Google Web Toolkit Applications.
Prior to developing Internet applications, and after graduating from the University of Toronto in 1998, Ryan was a C++ developer and consultant for the system frameworks of high performance servers in various industries including semiconductor manufacturing and healthcare information systems.
