Ryan is a founder and CTO of SnappyTV, where he oversees all engineering and operations. A three-time startup founder and CTO, Ryan has built his career around video, video advertising, and Internet technology. He was a founder and CTO of Jumpcut, a video sharing community that allowed you to upload video, photos and audio, edit them in a Flash-based online video editor, and remix and share with other users. After Jumpcut’s acquisition by Yahoo! in 2006, Ryan managed engineering for Video at Yahoo!, served as Sr Principal Architect for Video and architected a back-end content serving system. Prior to Jumpcut, Ryan worked at Macromedia where he was a founding team member of Flex/Flex Builder, and designed and implemented ActionScript 2.0, the first version of the Flash player’s scripting language designed for software engineers. Ryan also started and sold AimTV in 1999 to NetZero (United Online), and following the acquisition performed engineering management and R&D. AimTV was an early entry into internet video advertising that built technology to schedule, deliver and track TV-produced video advertisements to dial-up Internet customers. Ryan has a BS in Biology, Specialization in Computing and an MS in Computer Science, both from UCLA.
