Ron is SVP of Engineering at BigCommerce. He joined the company in March 2014 to establish the San Francisco office. Ron has overall responsibility for the BigCommerce engineering team distributed across SF, Sydney & Austin
Prior to BigCommerce, Ron was Director of Engineering at Twitter where he was responsible for: Trust & Safety Engineering, User Services Engineering, Content Management Tools, Platform Intelligence Tools, Open Source Programs, and Developer Productivity. Ron also led the acquisition of Marakana (a training company) to establish Twitter University, which provides continuous technical education to Twitter engineers and the tech community.
Immediately before Twitter, Ron worked at salesforce.com as Sr. Director, Mergers & Acquisitions. He provided recommendations on investments & acquisitions, and contributed to integration planning as well as post-closure activities. Ron was the touch point for engineering teams in Toronto, Tel Aviv, Hyderabad, Stockholm and Paris.
Previously, Ron was Sr. Director, Software Engineering at salesforce.com. He was responsible for a large portion of the Salesforce Platform for building and customizing Cloud applications (Custom Schema, Declarative App Builder, Workflow & Approvals, Globalization, AppExchange Packaging, and Database.com). Ron led the acquisition of a U.K.-based team to extend the Salesforce workflow product. He also led the mobile engineering team in the release of the first enterprise iOS application at the App Store launch in 2008.
