As President and COO of Event Innovation Ron oversees business operations and product development activities. Ron founded Event Innovation with Steve Gilfus in 2007. Ron provides his expertise in strategic planning and technology experience to establish business operations responsive to long-range objectives for growth and profitability. In addition Ron provides executive leadership for Product Development and the application of transaction system technologies.
Ron Dinwiddie, is a seasoned Internet software veteran, and is regarded as an expert in card transaction systems. Prior to Event Innovation, Ron was at Blackboard Inc. (NASDAQ: BBBB) where he led business strategy, product management and product development for Blackboard’s Commerce Suite of applications, a $40 million line of business and industry provider of campus ID card technologies for colleges and universities. These technologies enabled keyless and cashless environments to increase convenience and reduce overhead and allowing students and faculty to use their cards for dining, laundry, copying and printing, snack or beverage vending, bookstore purchases, and door access. Ron led strategic partnerships with Micros, NCR, Ingersoll Rand, and Sodexo, that extended Blackboard’s technology throughout and beyond the campus.
Prior to Blackboard, Ron held positions at Homestore, now Move.com (NASDAQ: MOVE), a comprehensive real estate and community information center. Homestore was the leader in online real estate, and provided essential web-based tools and content for consumers seeking information and services for their home needs.
A native of Arizona, he earned a MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BS in computer information systems and justice studies from Arizona State University. Ron holds several professional designations and is a member of the Project Management Institute and the Product Development and Management Association.
