Background
The son of an oil refinery manager, Roger Jenkins was educated in Edinburgh, Scotland where he earned a BA in economics from Heriot Watt University. He and his brother, David, were both talented athletes (Roger was a sprinter), but it was David who won a silver medal for Great Britain for his 400m relay performance during the 1972 Olympics in Munich.
Joining Barclays Capital
Roger Jennings began working at Barclays as Head of Structured Capital Markets in 1994. He then, worked his way up to his current position as chief executive of Barclays Capital’s Private Equity, Principal Investments and Structured Capital Markets.
