Robin Wauters is a social media consultant, startup advisor, blogger, conference organizer and allround web addict, based in Belgium, Europe.
As a consultant, Robin advises a number of web startups, mainly started or located in his home country Belgium, with their online strategy and marketing efforts (positioning, monetization, social media, PR, copywriting, etc.). Robin also frequently trains individuals, companies and brands in how to use social media in their overall communication strategy, and how to deal with a transitional advertising market.
Robin is mostly known for setting up Plugg, a one-day conference in Brussels aimed to raise awareness for European entrepreneurship as well as the continent’s most promising Web / Mobile 2.0 startups.
As a well-connected trendwatcher, Robin monitors what’s going on in the new media / Web 2.0 world and writes about it on a number of online and offline publications (The Next Web blog, T-Zine, IAB Magazine, etc.). He was one of the first writers to join blognation, an ambitious effort to centralize reports about Web 2.0 startups from around the world into one blog platform. He’s also the managing editor of the tech blog Virtualization.com.
