Robert Stevenson is a business and technology executive with 20 years’ of rich experience across a wide array of disciplines. Through the delivery of $3Bn in licensing, corporate and business development transactions, as well as the launch of numerous successful consumer products and platforms, Robert specializes in the productization, strategy and market delivery of new technologies. Robert currently serves as the Chief Business Officer & Senior Vice President of Strategy at Gaikai, the cloud technology and streaming division of Sony, where he is in charge of business development, strategy and numerous engineering activities. Including the acquisition of Gaikai by Sony Computer Entertainment for $380M, Robert has led nearly all of the commercial activities both B2B and B2C for the company. Work has included product launches with Samsung, Google, Walmart, LG Electronics, Comcast, Electronic Arts and most recently PlayStation Now, winner of 11 “Best of CES” 2014 awards and Remote Play on the hugely successful PlayStation 4.
Prior to joining Gaikai, Robert was the Vice President of Online Development at Namco Bandai, a $5Bn Japanese entertainment conglomerate, where he was in charge of western-facing online planning, R&D and content creation for gaming to enable a future of diverse activities in connected console, e-tail, eCRM and visionary new growth opportunities across TCP-enabled TV, HDMI dongle and STB devices. Before his work at Namco, Robert was the Vice President of Business Development & Worldwide Publishing for ATARI, where he oversaw the fostering and development of business relationships and global publishing activities, with work on best-selling franchises like Ghostbusters, Test Drive, Dragonball and Neverwinter Nights. Prior to ATARI, Robert served as the Vice President of Product Development & Acquisitions for DreamCatcher Games (acquired by JoWooD AG) and was responsible for many of the company's successful properties and business transactions. Early in his career, Robert held key roles in several technology and gaming companies, including Alternate Realities Corporation, Interactive Magic and Virtus Entertainment, co-founder of Red Storm Entertainment with author Tom Clancy and Timeline Studios with author/screenwriter Michael Crichton.
In addition to undergraduate studies in Design and Computer Science, Robert holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, including work at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.
