Robert has founded Shapeways together with Peter Weijmarshausen and Marleen Vogelaar. In his role as CTO he build the Shapeways web & 3D platform and setup the 3D printing factory.
Robert started his career in 2000 with Ernst & Young as an EDP-auditor. Robert specialized in security audits and IT-organization (ITIL, Cobit) audits with focus on Internet services & connectivity.
In 2001 Robert moved to BBV BV â€“ a tour operator â€“ as IT-manager to focus on growing the Internet portal as a true sales channel.
In 2002 Robert joined Aramiska, a start-up, delivering broadband Internet service to businesses in Europe via 2-way satellite, as product-engineer to become director IT in 2003. His main responsibility as director IT was the development and roll-out of a specialized enterprise resource planning tool (TAP), making the back office much more efficient.
In 2004, after a successful spin-out of the engineering and IT departments of Aramiska to Sangine in 2004, Robert was appointed General Manager to productize TAP for other satellite Internet providers.
Robert has a Bachelor Degree in Business Informatics from the Fontys School in Eindhoven.
