Robert is devoted to making robotics work for organizations. A former U.S. Army officer, he led the first RQ-7B "Shadow" drone platoon in Afghanistan. After the Army, Robert consulted for Deloitte Consulting. There he organized the U.S. Navy’s first Unmanned Surface Vehicle Community of Interest. He holds an M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon and was the founding president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of AUVSI.
Robert has published extensively on how to make robotics work for organizations and robotics businesses capital efficient. His work has appeared in Proceedings of the Naval Institute, IEEE Automaton, Robohub.org, Hizook, and his personal blog robocosmist.com.
