Rob invests in technology infrastructure, SaaS, Internet and Mobile companies at ScaleVP. He currently serves on the boards of BrightRoll, HubSpot, PeopleMatter, RingCentral and Scale Computing.
Prior to joining ScaleVP in 2008, Rob was a general partner with Doll Capital Management and invested in leading companies such as Jaspersoft, NeoPath Networks (Acq: Cisco), PGP Corporation (Acq: Symantec), Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT), Roamware, VanceInfo (NYSE: VIT) and Tapulous (Acq: Disney).
Before that, he served as Executive Vice President for New Era of Networks (NEON), where he grew the company to $200 million in revenues and helped lead NEON through a successful IPO. Prior to NEON, Rob spent 10 years in Executive roles at Sun Microsystems, where he drove growth in a series of new strategic initiatives, including Sun’s over billion dollar business in the Financial Services Industry sector. Rob’s previous experience includes launching Silicon Graphics’ initial workstations and selling timesharing services for McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing).
Rob holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh. In his spare time, Rob is a Sheriff cliff/mountain rescue specialist and rescue diver. He also serves on the board of Royal Bank of Canada’s investment committee.
