Starting my career in the trenches writing code in multiple languages for both desktop applications and web applications has given me a unique perspective on the use of technology for fun and profit. My successes in the trenches lead to technical leadership and strategic roles, which more closely aligned with direct revenue generation.
After making profitable investments of time and money my wife and I took a 2-year mini-retirement to see the world. Having visited 32 countries on 5 continents I developed a well-rounded understanding of global economics and proper cultural interactions.
Most recently I have applied my experience to lead a startup as the Director of Sales through two years of quarter-over-quarter growth exceeding 20% on average. Working for a leader in OpenSource collaboration I was able to become expert in Enterprise 2.0 and the use of collaborative tools in business environments. Moreover, I developed an extensive network of OpenSorce leaders and innovators. Currently I am seeking the next extension of my skills.
