Richard Watters

Richard James Watters, Jr. (born May 13, 1953 in Joliet, Illinois) is an American business entrepreneur and owner of Watters Investments Network, LLC and NeverAnEmptyGlass Media, LLC. He is also a freelance jazz and rock music journalist and former jazz musician (trumpet) who is Arizona/Illinois-based. Additionally, Richard is a Consultant for the Refining Technology Group at BP Oil’s research and development complex in the Chicago area involving various chemical engineering projects for the China, Russia and India markets.

• NeverAnEmptyGlass Media, LLC - The privately held firm, NeverAnEmptyGlass Media, provides media production consultation and other services such as website design, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), web analytics, and PowerPoint/WindowsMovieMaker presentations for professional use for various clients. Richard Watters is the editor/author of a syndicated jazz information-aggregation weblog which has come to some popularity with internet-based jazz fans known as JAZZzology. JAZZzology can be found as a credited news source on AllAboutJazz.com and at JazzMattters.com for many jazz topics. It primarily showcases news and events happening on the Chicago jazz scene. Richard hopes to soon start including items on the New York City and Los Angeles jazz scenes as well. JAZZzology is one of a series of 50 blogs known as “The Zology Blogs” on various topics of interest and study to Richard that he shares with others in the on-line community. • Watters Investments Network, LLC - Also known as “WIN”, the Watters Investments Network is a privately held business that currently includes ownership of a nationwide network of automated teller machines (ATM), provides venture capital for a social-networking website company as well as selected jazz and rock music-oriented enterprises and day-trading in equities.

• BP Oil Trust Investments - Former member of the Trust Investments BP Oil Finance staff, Richard was one of 15 people that monitored twelve billion dollars of investments on behalf of the BP employees Pension Plan (DB) and Savings Plan (DC). He functioned as an Operations and Financial Analyst for Trust Investments-The Americas. This position dealt with processing daily cash movements/stock trades regarding BP’s investment accounts, creating powerpoint presentations for the various Investment Managers, conducting variance analysis on fees between trustee JPMorgan Chase and various fund managers, reviewing accounting reconciliation reports on fund manager market valuations and continual revision/enhancement of processes relating to the control and governance of Trust Investments operations, including the Trust Investments knowledge-based web portal (Octopus). He was also the team lead for the Disaster Recovery Team (BCP) and the department’s liaison with trustee JPMorgan Chase-New York.
