Rich Buchanan joined Ooma as Chief Marketing Officer in May 2008.

Previously he was the Vice President of Marketing at Sling Media where he was responsible for all marketing activities since the company's inception in 2005 through its acquisition by EchoStar for $380 million in September 2007. Sling Media reportedly sold 100,000 units in its first six months of operations, and 500,000 units as of mid 2008.
