Renat Khasanshyn is an entrepreneur and angel investor, and a subject matter expert in creating revenue streams using APIs and B2B marketing/sales. Investment focus covers startups from US and Eastern Europe in the areas of enterprise software, big data and cloud computing.
In 2008 Renat Khasanshyn founded Apatar, Inc., on-demand, open source data mashup software company.
In 2001, at the age of 20, Mr. Khasanshyn founded Altoros Systems, Inc., and grew the company from 0 to 200+ employees in Belarus, USA, Norway and Denmark. Altoros specializes in helping Internet, social gaming and enterprise software startup companies accelerate release cycles using resources in Eastern Europe.
Between 2005 and 2011 Altoros helped its customers create over $1B of enterprise value and raise in excess of $100M in venture funding from Accel Partners, Matrix Partners, North Bridge Venture Partners, Facebook Fund, Khosla Ventures, Greycroft Partners, BV Capital, Split Rock Partners, Sutter Hill Ventures and First Round Capital.
Prior to founding Altoros, Renat was Software Engineer and VP of Engineering for insurance company PriMed, Inc. in Tampa, Florida.
Renat was selected as a finalist for the 2007 Emerging Executive of the Year award by Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council. Renat has a passion for emerging technologies and has won the 2007 IBM Business Mashup Challenge.
When not in the game of making money, Renat plays jazz piano, and enjoys sailing, snowboarding and kite surfing. Renat is a co-founder of Belarussian Java User Group, Belarussian Ruby on Rails User Group and studied Engineering at the Belarussian State Polytechnic University.
