Schulman currently serves as Managing Partner in the Schulman + Throrogood Group and was the chief marketing officer for Eightfold Logic, an inbound marketing company.
He is a founder and past board member of the Web Analytics Association, Is a Trustee at the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation, and is a Executive-in-Residence and University of the Pacific for digital marketing and new media. He led world known brands as EVP at Software Publishing/Harvard Graphics, and built a public interactive agency at Vizicom. He founded and was CEO of Keylime Software, acquired by Yahoo in 2000, which was one of the first SaaS companies; headed product and strategy at WebTrends (acquired by Francisco Partners), and was the CMO of both WebSideStory (IPO) and InsideView (Top Tier VC Funded), and is a founder and principal of Schulman+Thorogood Group, a business strategy consulting practice advising new media companies.
Currently Schulman sits on the Board and advises: Web Analytic Consulting CompanyÂ Technology Leaders; Mobile Analytics CompanyÂ Motally; Social Media Analytics FirmÂ ViralHeat; and SaaS-based Medical Billing CompanyXIFIN.
As a regular speaker, Schulman is well known by both technology analysts and financial institutions. Rand has been an executive officer on two IPO teams (TriTeal in 1996 and WebSideStory in 2005), and has seen two of his firms acquired (Island Graphics and Keylime Software). He currently advises a number of Investment Banks, Private Equity and Venture Capital firms about sector-shifts and opportunities in new media and marketing. He has spearheaded the acquisition of numerous online media companies in the decade. Schulman holds a BA in English and Journalism from the University of the Pacific.
