Rajan Anandan is a Vice President with Google, Inc.
In his current role Rajan is the Vice President and Managing Director responsible for all of Google’s Sales and Operations in India. India is the third largest Internet user market in the world and Google has market leading positions across all it major products in India.
Prior to joining Google in February 2011, Rajan was the Managing Director of Microsoft India. At Microsoft Rajan led Microsoft’s Sales Marketing and Services Group (SMSG) in India and was responsible for building Microsoft into a billion dollar business which is now the largest software business in India.
Before joining Microsoft, he was a Vice President with Dell, Inc. He held various global leadership roles at Dell over 5 years, starting as the Vice President and Executive Assistant to Michael Dell. Rajan moved to India in 2006 as the VP for Dell India and was repsonsible for Dell’s business in India. Under Rajan’s leadership Dell grew revenues from $250million to $800million in 3 years.
Anandan started his career at McKinsey & Company and was a Partner with McKinsey’s Chicago Office. Rajan was with McKinsey from 1992 to 2003.
Anandan completed his Masters Degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering in 1992 from the Stanford University. He is a Mechanical Engineer and did his bachelors degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Rajan is an active angel investor in India and focuses on investing in internet, mobile and saas companies.
