Radu Georgescu

Radu Georgescu (born 10 January 1968) is an entrepreneur in the software industry, business angel, founder, President of the Board and major owner of Gecad Technologies/Axigen, Avangate and GECAD NET.

He founded the first company, GECAD Software, back in 1992, before his graduation. In the following years he had a huge contribution to the growth of the company and to the worldwide expansion of its flagship technology - RAV Antivirus.

Radu had a successful and well-known exit in 2003 when he sold the antivirus technology to Microsoft, keeping into his company the top management team, part of the executive team and the impressive 11-year business knowledge. Having its top management team on his side, he reorganized in 2003-2004 the entire activity of the company into three new business entities mentioned before. He used each and every piece of business and technology knowledge acquired until 2003 to develop a mail server producer (Gecad Technologies/Axigen), an ESD and eCommerce company (Avangate) and a security organization (GECAD NET).

Now he is one the most famous Romanian entrepreneurs, well-known for its vision, clear mind and out of the box thinking, in the both local and worldwide software industry. Radu is also a frequent guest lecturer to software and entrepreneurship conferences, delighting his audience with visionary and energetic speeches.
