Person Details

Peter Weijmarshausen is Co-Founder and CEO of Shapeways.

In just six years, Pete has made 3D printing accessible to all, empowering anyone to be a designer and turn an idea into a physical reality.

He created Shapeways, the leading marketplace and community for 3D printing, as a spin-off project at the Philips Lifestyle Incubator while experimenting with ways to get consumers directly involved in creating products.

This Netherlands native has since printed more than 2 million products to-date (with 100K new products added monthly), collaborated with fashion powerhouses Neiman Marcus and Victoria's Secret, and has plans to double the number of 3D printers in Shapeways' Long Island City factory this month.

3D printing has experienced incredible growth over the past few years - reshaping industries from healthcare and electronics to aerospace and home construction - but Pete continues to look towards the future, innovating with new materials, exciting partnerships and more.
