Person Details

Peter Relan heads the Studio 9+ accelerator with his team of Mentors and Company Builders, including Jerry Held, Michelle Sangster, Eros Resmini, Jim Mills, and Les Wright.

Studio 9+ gives nine months of deep mentorship across all facets of business to help entrepreneurs become Founder-CEOs with viable companies which have a stronger foundation and higher chance of success.

Peter is a Silicon Valley technology veteran with over twenty-five years of experience in technology, executive management and serial entrepreneurship.

He is the founder and CEO of YouWeb, an early stage startup incubator that focuses heavily on deep mentorship and the entrepreneur as an individual, rather than simply an idea.

Peter is best known for helping to establish the co-founder method of incubation, or "parallel entrepreneurship", where Peter joins each entrepreneur in YouWeb's program as a co-founder, to work one-on-one with them to develop a great product and take it to market.

Peter and YouWeb are financial supporters of Hacker dojo, the largest community center dedicated to hackers.

Before starting YouWeb, Peter held technology executive positions at some of the most successful Silicon Valley companies in the networking, middleware, and enterprise application software space.

For the past 10 years, Peter has been an active angel investor and advisor for startups.

Peter holds a B.S. degree in computer science from UCLA and an M.S. in engineering management from Stanford University, where he graduated as a Hewlett Packard Resident Fellow.

He is an avid tennis player, children’s basketball coach, and percussionist in Indian Classical Music.

He supports Ekal, a network of 30,000 rural literacy schools in India, and also serves as a Board Member at the Tech Museum of innovation in San Jose and on the Annual Humanitarian Award committee. Past recipients of this award have been Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jeff Skoll, and Queen Rania.
