Michael ‘Mick’ Farrell has been has been Chief Executive Officer for ResMed since March 2013. Prior to that appointment, Mr. Farrell served as President – Americas for ResMed from 2011 to 2013. He was previously senior vice president of the global business unit for sleep apnea therapeutic and diagnostic devices from 2007 to 2011, and before that he held various senior roles in marketing and business development. Before joining ResMed in September 2000, Mr. Farrell worked in management consulting, biotechnology, chemicals, and metals manufacturing at Arthur D. Little, Genzyme Corporation, The Dow Chemical Company, and BHP Billiton. Mr. Farrell sits on the ResMed board of directors and on the board of directors of the Medical Device Manufacturers’ Association (MDMA) in Washington, D.C., as well as the La Jolla Playhouse and New Children’s Museum in San Diego, California. Mr. Farrell holds a bachelor of engineering, with first-class honors, from the University of New South Wales, a master of science in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.B.A. from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
