Paul Tocatlian is currently Vice President of Engineering at Magnet Systems, reporting to founder and CEO, Alfred Chuang. Responsibilities include product management, software engineering, technical publications, and technical operations.
Magnet Systems is building a mobile software platform to accelerate the emergence of a new generation of enterprise applications. Combining mobile, social and cloud technologies, Magnet’s goal is to make it fast and easy to build compelling business applications that deliver the same smartphone and tablet experience consumers have enjoyed for years.
Paul Tocatlian was previously Vice President of Engineering at Payfone and was responsible for leading the company’s engineering organization. Focused on engineering process and productivity, while ensuring that the Payfone mobile commerce platform is designed to be easily integrated into merchant acquirer, financial institution and mobile operator systems.
Prior to Payfone, Paul was Vice President of Engineering at Minerva Networks, where he was responsible for product planning, design, development and delivery, as well as day-to-day management of engineering, quality assurance, technical publications and customer support. Minerva was awarded TelcoTV 2011 Vision Award for Innovation in Middleware.
Prior to Minerva, Paul spent time at Navio Systems, Bytemobile, Propel Software, BEA Systems, Novell, and AT&T Bell Labs.
Paul holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from the American University of Paris.
