Paul Palmieri joined NEA as a Venture Advisor in 2014, focused on technology, media and consumer internet.
Mr. Palmieri is a successful entrepreneur, investor and operator in the internet space - most notably in the mobile ecosystem. As an entrepreneur, he is the co-founder of Millennial Media (NYSE:MM), where he was Chairman and CEO for seven years and guided the company from startup through a successful public offering and well into operating as a public company. His vision for Millennial Media helped to define the app economy business model, and his work as an executive at Verizon Wireless in the early 2000’s established key business models for the mobile and smartphone ecosystems. He has been a frequent guest on CNBC US and Asia, Fox Business, and Bloomberg Television and radio, as an expert in tracking the secular trend of mobile computing.
In the advertising space, he has served on the board of directors for the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), as global chairman of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), and as a frequent speaker on digital advertising and the role of mobile unique data for advertising targeting. In the entertainment space, he has been a featured speaker at the Game Developers Conference, E3 Expo, and various content focused conferences.
Mr. Palmieri was recognized as executive of the year in 2011 by the American Business Awards, Entrepreneur of the Year for Maryland by Ernst and Young in 2010, and as CEO of the Year by Smart CEO Magazine in 2013. He has also been named by The Daily record to the Influential Marylanders list in 2012 for Millennial Media, and 2014 for NEA.
Mr. Palmieri lives in Hunt Valley, Maryland with his wife and two children, and is a member of the Board of Trustees at Mount St. Mary’s University.
