Paul is an entrepreneur-turned venture capitalist. He co-founded Mazu Networks, funded Series A by Greylock Partners, Matrix, and Benchmark Capital. Mazu was sold to Riverbed Technology. He later joined New Enterprise Associates, a global venture firm with $11B and 300+ portfolio companies, as a Kauffman Fellow.
At NEA, he has invested in 6 companies that have gone public – Boingo Wireless (NASDAQ: WIFI), Atheros (NASDAQ: ATHR), Salesforce.com (NASDAQ: CRM), Spreadtrum Communications (NASDAQ: SPRD), BCD Semi (NASDAQ: BCDS), and Actions Semi (NASDAQ: ACTS). He has also helped numerous companies get acquired, including 3Jam (Skype), Cassatt (CA), Decru (NetApp), FineGround Networks (Cisco), Interlace Systems (Oracle), Luminary Micro (Texas Instruments), Polyserve (HP), UltraDNS (Neustar), and WholeSecurity (Symantec).
Paul’s current interests and passion are about working with entrepreneurs who want to make an impact in education, interior design, wellness/nutrition, job creations for new grads, co-creation, display-over-IP, retirement, Internet security/infrastructure, and public company research.
