Patrick Sweeney
Patrick J. Sweeney II is the foudner and CEO of dwinQ. dwinQ is the first social media engagement platform that turns every event attendee into a brand champion. With dwinQ, event and sponsorship marketers greatly enhance return on investment while automatically creating endorsed product placements across social channels such as Facebook and Twitter. The company is headquartered in Cambridge, MA.
Prior to dwinQ patrick was the founder and CEO of ODIN, an RFID Software company headquartered in Ashburn, VA with offices in Boston, Dublin, and Budapest. He started the company in 2002 after selling his venture backed hosting company, ServerVault in 2001. ODIN is the leader in RFID software with clients such as Mayo Cliic, Johnson & Johnson, the US DoD and many others. In 2010 ODIN acquired Reva Systems creating a Boston office.
Sweeney hold six patents for location based and RFID technology. He is the author of RFID for Dummies and is a frequent speaker on the intersection of wireless technology and human interaction. He has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, CIO magazine, ABC, CNN and featured in SmartCEO magazine. He is a regular contributor to CNBC and Social Media Today. He holds several technology patents and is considered one of the leading thinkers on the development of a connected society.
Mr. Sweeney is a former world-class athlete finishing second in the US Olympic Trials in the single scull in 1996 and won many national and international championships. He attended the University of New Hampshire for undergraduate and received his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia graduating near the top of his class.
An active philanthropist Mr. Sweeney sits on the board of Trinity College Dublin’s Business School and also the Board of Peace Players International. He is married with three children. He is an active member of the Young President’s Organization, a commercially rated pilot and active in adventure mountain bike races.
