Patrice Peyret

Patrice Peyret has more than 20 years of global Infocom industry expertise. He is the former CEO of Nexit portfolio company Mobileway, now Mobile365, a global content distribution and m-commerce-enabling solutions provider for wireless devices.

Mr. Peyret served as head of engineering at Sun Microsystems for Java technologies applied to portable products such as mobile phones. Mr. Peyret also served as CEO and founder of Integrity Arts, a software concern that specialized in secure system software for smart cards. In 1997, he arranged the acquisition of Integrity Arts to Sun Microsystems.

As head of R&D and business development at Gemplus, the world’s largest smart card vendor, Mr. Peyret initiated the European-funded ESPRIT project that led to the design of the world’s first RISC-based chip for smart cards. Mr. Peyret has also served the consumer electronics industry as general manager of Thomson Consumer Electronics (now Thomson Multimedia) Laboratories in France and Los Angeles, and as technical advisor to Thomson-CSF Ventures, the venture-capital branch of Thomson. He also sat on the board of VPL Research, the company founded in California by Jaron Lanier to pioneer Virtual Reality.

Mr. Peyret holds a Ph.D. from Ecole Centrale in Lyon, France.
