Omar is an entrepreneur with deep roots in the mobile industry. After earning a degree in Computer Science at UCLA, Omar founded and ran several companies in mobile software and services. At the time, he was frustrated by the lack of available options when it came to promoting and monetizing mobile products. Omar realized that mobile service and content firms needed better ways to advertise and make money on the mobile Web. While earning his MBA at the Wharton School, Omar began to think more seriously about the untapped potential of mobile advertising, and created AdMob to address this growing opportunity. Today, Omar has taken a leave from Wharton to focus on AdMob, and is now running one of the fastest growing and most innovative companies in the mobile world. (Source: AdMob)
Omar served as AdMobʼs CEO and a member of the companyʼs board of directors from January 2006 through the companyʼs acquisition by Google in May 2010.
While at Google, Omar was a VP of mobile ads, responsible for the development and innovation of Googleʼs mobile advertising products. He holds a bachelorʼs degree in computer science from the University of California, Los Angeles and is on leave from the MBA program at the University of Pennsylvania.
