Nikhil joined Shasta in 2012 having spent time both at startups and in venture capital. He was previously a member of the investment team at Insight Venture Partners, a $5B growth-stage venture capital firm in New York, where he focused on investments in consumer internet and mobile, enterprise software, and data services. In college, Nikhil helped to start a number of technology and non-technology ventures, including Art.sy, a platform for discovering, learning about, and collecting art. He founded a social enterprise, My Card My Story, which produces greeting cards that incorporate the stories and artwork of underprivileged children in Mumbai, India. Nikhil served as co-president of the Princeton Entrepreneurship Club for two years, during which he helped to launch popular new programs such as anelevator pitch competition and an idea generation forum, and laid the foundations for an entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus.
Nikhil holds an A.B. in Molecular Biology with a Certificate in Finance from Princeton University, where he won the Spirit of Princeton Award. His thesis research focused on computational biology, human genomics, and the path towards personalized medicine. Nikhil grew up in the UK, India, and California, and is an avid follower of soccer, cricket, tennis, and Bay Area sports teams.
