Nick Plante

Nick Plante is founder of Zerosum Labs, where he splits his time between consulting with early-stage web startup clients and incubating his own web and mobile properties. He’s an experienced full-stack software developer, proficient with Ruby, JavaScript, and several other programming languages and web technologies in addition to product design skills.

Nick was previously co-founder / CTO of Mogoterra (a TechStars portfolio company) and a partner in Ubikorp Internet Services. He has performed roles ranging from web architecture to project management and team building. He’s a mentor for several company-building programs including Chinaccelerator, AngelHack, and HAXLR8R.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Nick is also a prolific OSS contributor and community organizer. He created and was chief organizer of the Rails Rumble innovation competition, an annual 48-hour development event, and also developed and maintains rdoc.info, the largest hosted documentation source for Ruby libraries. Nick’s book, ‘Practical Rails Plugins’, was published by Apress in 2008.

In his copious free time, Nick enjoys independent film, music, hiking, biking, and talking about himself in the third person. Nick holds a master’s degree in computer science from Northeastern University.
