Nick Henny is Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of Universal Music Group (UMG). In this position, he is responsible for managing the global financial strategy and business activities of the world’s largest music company. Henny joined the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in April 2000 and was promoted to Vice Chairman in February 2003.
Prior to joining UMG, Henny was Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Sony Corporation of America (SCA). He also served as a member of SCA’s senior management committee and oversaw the SCA Finance and Audit Committees. Additionally, Henny held the position of President, Sony Capital Corporation, a company responsible for the financing, cash management and foreign exchange services of Sony’s U.S. based, Canadian and Latin American electronics businesses, as well as the worldwide entertainment businesses outside of Japan.
Henny joined Sony in February 1988 as a Senior Vice President and was named Executive Vice President in 1993. Prior to his tenure at Sony, he was a partner at the independent accounting firm of Price Waterhouse. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the State University of New York at Albany Foundation and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and New Jersey.
