Dr. Ahmed most recently was at WiQuest Communications, the leading ultrawideband semiconductor supplier, where he was responsible for architecting, simulating and developing baseband and system level algorithms. Dr. Ahmed has spent time working with several research centers including Telecommunications Research Laboratories (TRLabs), Nokia’s R&D Center, and Texas Instruments DSP Solutions R & D center. His research interests lie in signal processing techniques for communications.
He has worked on modulation, detection, equalization and power distribution techniques for both wireline and wireless applications. Dr. Ahmed received his B.Sc. degree from the University of Manitoba in 1998, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Rice University in 2000 and 2004, respectively. At Rice University he was a member of the Digital Signal Processing group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he was a Texas Instruments Fellow and NSERC PGS A and B recipient. He is the author of numerous publications and has 8 patents and pending applications.
