Nabeel is Founder and CEO of Conduit Labs, a media-focused social gaming company backed by Charles River Ventures and Prism.
For the past 15 years, Nabeel has been leading the edge of digital media. From the first subscription SMS services to pioneering a new category of consumer electronics in “glanceable computing” Nabeel’s passion is new products, business models, and platforms for expanding the utility and entertainment we get from digital media.
Nabeel was most recently a Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Prism Ventures, helping establish their gaming investment practice and incubating Conduit Labs. Previously he was COO and VP Product Development at Ambient Devices, an MIT Media Lab spin-off pioneering glanceable technology: embedding Internet information in everyday objects like light bulbs, mirrors, refrigerators, umbrellas to make the physical environment an interface to digital media.
In the past, Nabeel was heavily involved in the first wave of sports media on the internet. First in the early days of internetsoccer.com (acquired by Teamtalk plc), a consumer internet site and provider of content services to the NCAA and FIFA. And later serving as COO of Teamtalk.com, a new media sports company and pioneer in SMS-based subscription services which reached $160m in revenue and went public on the LSE in 2000.
Nabeel is a frequent speaker on virtual goods, gaming, and the future of digital media at CES, GDC, SXSW, and other conferences. In 2004 he was a Top 100 Innovators under 30 nominee by MIT Technology Review. Nabeel is active in the Boston startup community as an advisor and Techstars mentor.
