N Shivakumar

Shivakumar is a founder of 1618Labs. Shiva is interested in solving real world problems using technology, and is currently visiting Stanford on related research.

Shiva is an active angel investor in tech startups, and serves on advisory boards of Ayasdi, Bloomreach and Twitter. Earlier, Shiva was at Google (2001-2010), most recently as a VP Engineering and Google’s only “Distinguished Entrepreneur.” At Google, Shiva led & launched numerous products including Adsense, Search Appliances, and sitemaps.org, an industry 1st collaboration between Google, Yahoo and Microsoft. Before Google, Shiva cofounded Gigabeat (acquired by Napster), a music personalization tech company. Shiva did his PhD at Stanford in Computer Science, where his thesis won the annual Arthur Samuel Dissertation award. He did his BS at UCLA, where he won the Distinguished Scholar Award.
