Murali Subbarao is the Founder & CEO of Billeo, guiding all aspects of the company’s development, growth and management. Under his leadership, Billeo has gained recognition from the media for its ability to give consumers unprecedented choice, control and convenience when paying bills and shopping online, including the Editor’s Choice award and a Four Star rating from PC Magazine.
Murali has over 20 years of experience in the high-tech space, and is a recognized leader in the electronic payment industry. Prior to founding Billeo, he was Senior Director, Strategy and Alliances, for the Financial Services Business Unit of Hewlett-Packard, developing solutions with emerging (now established) players such as S1, epiphany and Ebix, for Internet Banking, CRM, B2B Payments, and Electronic Exchanges for financial institutions worldwide. He also served as VP of Business Development at Arula Systems (acquired by Raritan), a provider of remote management appliances, where he created solutions with partners for Remote IT Management, Managed Security Services, and Industrial Automation for clients like Royal Bank of Scotland, Mitsubishi and GE.
Murali has an MBA from UC Berkeley, an MS in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin, Madison, and B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India. He has been a member of the Council for Electronic Bill Payment & Presentment (CEBP), of NACHA – The Electronic Payments Association, and is a frequent speaker at their meetings. In 2008, he was recognized by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal as one of their “People To Know in the Silicon Valley.”
