As CTO of Reunion.com, Monte Gibbs is responsible for the company’s digital strategy, its technical operations and expansion of customer acquisition through delivery of new products and services for Reunion’s 50M+ member community platform, consistently ranked by ComScore as one of the top ten social networking sites on the Web today. During his time at Reunion, the company has doubled its user base and revenues, developed the largest people search engine on the Web, and, per its acquisition of Wink.com, has incorporated those operations and re-launched as MyLife.com.
Before joining Reunion, Gibbs was VP, Technology & Product Development for MTV Networks Neopets.com, one of the highest-rated destination sites for youth-oriented games and social networking online. Gibbs was responsible for extending the global reach of Neopets brand and advancing its MMO/MMORPG games and e-commerce platforms, then leveraging them within MTV’s Nickelodeon Kids & Family operations, which combined, offer over 120 channels of branded content and a combined reach of over 100 million users worldwide.
Prior to Reunion & MTV Networks, Gibbs held a number of key senior management positions in leading technology and Internet companies throughout the industry. He was SVP, Technology of Idea Integration, where he was responsible for establishing the company’s New York City offices as well as forming its national M&E consulting practice; CTO of RevX, a leading developer of SCM / Business Process Automation software, and Chairman, founder and CTO of Zydeco.com, an enterprise software company in Seattle, developing artificial-intelligence applications for the retail industry. Gibbs responsibilities at Zydeco.com included raising venture capital, serving as the senior architect for the company’s patented technologies, defining online branding and orchestrating partnerships with some of the world’s largest retail companies.
Prior to these, Gibbs worked with industry leaders IBM and MCI, where he co-founded groundbreaking interactive media labs and professional consultancy practices at each, providing solutions for various Fortune 500 companies. Some of Mr. Gibbs former clients include NewsCorp, CBS, 20th Century Fox, Sony Online Entertainment, Disney, CNN, ESPN, Discovery Channel, the MPAA, National Geographic, the Olympic Committee, NFL, NHL and PGA and USTA, FILA, Microsoft, MSN, Hearst Publishing, Pepsi, Bausch & Lomb, Prudential, Dun & Bradstreet, Shell Oil, British Petroleum, Lucent Wireless, the European Union and the United Nations.

Gibbs has been a Professor in Residence at the Pratt Institute in New York City since 2003, where he teaches graduate program courses in Strategic Technology and Design Management.
Gibbs, a native of Atlanta, GA, attended Appalachian State University in North Carolina with a concentration in Computer Sciences. Gibbs serves as a technical board advisor to several companies and national nonprofit organizations, and is a frequent speaker, author and guest lecturer at industry conferences.
