Al-Sherawi Profile:

Mr. Mohammed Al-Shirawi was born in Qatar. He graduated in 1987 from the University of Kent, United Kingdom with an MA in Management (Financial Analysis).

Mr. Al-Shirawi has over 36 working years of experience in the field of Finance, Insurance, Real-Estate Development, Projects Finance, Investments, Petrochemical, Oil and Gas industry.

Mr. Al Shirawi has been working with Qatar Petroleum for 27 years. He was appointed as the Director of Financ of Qatar Petroleum in 1996.

He joined Qatar General Petroleum Corporation (later called “Qatar Petroleum”) in 1982 after successfully completing numerous development programs within a variety of major international oil companies. He progressively held key positions, culminating in his appointment as Finance Manager of QGPC Offshore in 1990.

In 1992, when the two operations of Onshore and Offshore were merged, he continued with increased responsibility as Finance Manager of Oil and Gas Operations. Following the establishment of the Ministry of Energy & Industry and the unification of QGPC, he became Manager, Financial Accounting, a position he held up until he was appointed as Finance Director in 1996.

Mr. Al Shirawi is also a Board Member of Qatar Gas; Chairman, Board of Directors, Gulf Drilling International; Chairman, Board of Directors, Al-Koot Insurance And Re-Insurance Company; Member, Management Committee, Occidental; Chairman, General Tenders Committee, Qatar Petroleum; Chairman, Board of Directors, Freej Real-Estate Company; Chairman, Management Committee, Qatar Petroleum Development (QPD); Member, Management Committee, Maersk Oil Qatar; and Board Member of Qatar Airways Boards.
