Mohamad Makhzoumi joined NEA in 2005 and focuses on investments in the healthcare services and healthcare information technology sectors. Mohamad currently sits on the Board of Directors for American Pathology Partners, DSI Renal, Elements Behavioral Health, NephroLife, Nova Medical Centers, SCI Solutions and Simplex Healthcare as well as being a Board Observer at BENU, Vantage Oncology, and Welltok. In the past, Mohamad has worked closely with Bravo Health, CHG Healthcare Services and ppoNEXT.
Prior to joining NEA, Mohamad was an Associate with Summit Partners, a leading global private equity and venture firm. Mohamad focused on growth equity investments ranging from $15 – $200 million and completed transactions totaling over $300 million in committed capital. Previously, Mohamad worked with UBS Investment Bank where he concentrated on healthcare services, leveraged finance and financial sponsor transactions. Prior to UBS, Mohamad interned as an analyst with the NEA healthcare team focusing on investments in medical devices, healthcare services and healthcare information technology. Mohamad received a bachelor's degree, with distinction, in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and currently serves as a founding board member of the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s Young Leadership Cancer Council.
