Moataz is the founder & CEO of Vufind Inc, and is the leader behind the company’s vision and strategy. Moataz has deep roots in the multimedia space going back a decade and half.
Prior to Vufind, Moataz was recently Head of Software Architecture at Sony Ericsson where he architected and led the software platform for multiple mobile products.
Moataz architected, led and launched products and IP generating hundreds of million in revenue at several industry leaders in mobile software, consumer electronics, multimedia systems, VOIP, and mobile/embedded processors and firmware.
Like most of the valley’s entrepreneurs, Moataz cofounded a couple of startups prior to Vufind, one in the HD Video Coding/transcoding space, and one in navigation/location services.
Moataz is the originator and recipient of 19 issued patents in multimedia architectures and algorithm, video and image analysis, grid computing, and media codecs. Moataz was a PhD student at Stanford from 1993–1996 where he worked on concurrent event-based transaction processing. Moataz holds an MSEE from Stanford’s Computer Systems Lab, and an MS in CS from University of Oregon.
