Mitchell Rosich began consulting for Athenian Venture Partners in 2000, joining the firm as a partner in the IT investment practice in 2002. In addition to a decade of technology venture capital experience, Rosich has over two decades of industry experience in product and engineering development, and in the management of 3 start-up technology companies, including Omnia, which Rosich and his team sold to CIENA for $498M.
Rosich has been awarded 11 computer technology patents for software and hardware, 8 of which have been used in commercial applications. Currently, he represents Athenian as a director on the boards of Manta Media and Comet Solutions, and as an observer on the board of Sendio. Previously, he served on the boards of Chaparral Network Storage and Candera.
Prior to Athenian, Rosich was Vice President of Engineering for Sandburst Corporation, a semiconductor company he joined as it was raising its first round of venture capital financing. Prior to that, he was VP of Engineering for the Access Systems Division of CIENA, after it acquired another start-up, Omnia Communications, where Rosich had served as VP of Engineering. Previously, he was a founder and VP of Engineering of EasyLAN Corporation. He also was an engineering development director and manager at 3Com and at EMC Corporation. He began his career as an engineer with Digital Equipment Corporation.
Rosich holds BS (with Distinction) and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering, both from Cornell University, and an MBA with High Honors from Boston University.
